Frequently Asked Questions

What if I need to miss a class?
If you need to miss a class, please let us know as soon as possible. We do not offer refunds for missed classes, but we will do our best to accommodate a make-up session when available. For cancellations made more than 48 hours before the class start time, we can offer a credit toward a future class. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable.
Do you offer casting services?
Yes! We offer professional casting services for jewelers and designers who have their own wax models. We cast in sterling silver, bronze, and brass. Please contact us with details about your project for pricing and turnaround time. We accept wax carvings, injection wax, and resin prints prepared for casting.
Can I get my casting done anywhere else?
Bushwick Jewelry Casting is one of the only schools that offers casting within the tri-state area.
What class should I take first?
If you're brand new to jewelry making, we recommend starting with Intro to Jewelry Casting or the Two Day Bootcamp. Both are designed for complete beginners and will give you a strong foundation in wax carving and the casting process. If you're interested in fabrication and working directly with metal, Soldering for Beginners or Metalsmithing are great starting points.
Interested in stone setting?
We recommend taking Soldering for Beginners or Intro to Jewelry Casting before enrolling in Stone Setting. Having a basic understanding of metalworking or wax carving will help you get the most out of the stone setting course. Our Stone Setting 2 Day class is an intensive workshop covering bezel, tube, flush, and prong setting methods.
